Jon & Kate Plus 8

Before I left Doha, my SIL called to see if I wanted to go to a Kate Gosselin speaking engagement the evening that I was scheduled to arrive to Detroit (I had a one day layover in Detroit since I did not want to fly Doha directly to San Pedro Sula, Honduras). My niece is a huge fan of the show, and though I find it entertaining, the main reason I decided to go was to spend time with my niece and Julie.

Even though I knew I would be tired after 20 hours of travel, I believed that I would be able to stay awake. That didn’t happen…about two minutes in and my head began a bobbing—much to my niece’s chagrin—and there may have even been a little drool droplet or two, but at least I did not snore.

After my nap, we stood in the book signing line with people who stealthily attempted to snap pictures of the bodyguard. Standing in the line, watching the people, listening to their comments, I felt a little sorry for Kate…okay…maybe she did come across as a shrew…but she is dealing with something that would bring out the “shrewness” in most women.

Once our eyes are opened, we cannot pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows what we know, and He holds us responsible to ACT.
