that my child may have peace.

AUDIENCE MEMBER: “Can you give us an example of a leader we should look up to as a positive influence?”Faith is not conjuring up, through an act of your will, a sense of certainty that something is going to happen. No, it is recognizing God’s promise as an actual fact, believing it is true, rejoicing in the knowledge of that truth, and then simply resting because God said it….
Faith does not say, “I see this is good for me; therefore, God must have sent it.” Instead, faith declares, “God sent it; therefore, it must be good for me.”
I JUST LOVE THS BOY!!!
I am sure that most remember Obama’s election quote about "bitter" small town America who “cling to guns or religion…as a way to explain their frustrations.”
Having taught 8th grade English for years, I spent a lot of time studying the Holo*caust. In fact, I spent an entire week at the National Holo*caust Museum in Washington DC attending the Arthur and Rochelle Be*lfer National Conference for Educators. Only 50 educators were invited, and we had the entire museum to ourselves each morning before it officially opened and each evening after it had closed. Alone, in the quietness of the museum, the exhibits were more horrific, the atrocities more poignant—the experience deeply troubled me—and for months afterwards I was haunted by what I had seen and learned.Good afternoon E,
I would be most appreciative if you would send a replacement mobile phone for mine is not working.
I have pulled the SIM card and will send the inop phone to you.
Thank you so much for your assistance with this.

One of my favorite hymns is H.G. Spafford’s It Is Well with my Soul—My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
I have not posted much over the last week for I have not been able to get my head around all that has been happening in the United States…Oh what a glorious plan. God reaching down to fallen man. To all of us broken, lost, and undone—Hear now as Heaven bids us come—Find MERCY that triumphs over JUDGMENT—find GRACE abounding greater than our sin.
Find MERCY that triumphs over JUDGMENT—find GRACE abounding greater than our sin.
I would have absolutely died if it had revealed that I have a SOUTHERN accent (from my years in Texas, y'all!).
| What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Inland North You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." | |

Well, there you have it—the quiz must be scientifically based for it is dead on. Michigander to the CORE. (Unfortunately, I am picking up some non-American terminology—as a matter of survival. The other day, I asked a sales clerk if he would please to direct me to the “lift” (elevator)! Yikes.)
I rationalize behaviors (Proverbs 16:2a “All the ways of man are clean in his own eyes...”) that may not be “wrong” but they certainly are not “right”—and I would be better off not doing them. Because I rationalize all my negative behaviors, I often fail to see myself for who/what I truly am.
Today is my mother’s birthday.
The following is an excerpt from an email that I received from a dear friend. Linda is truly amazing—and her sense of humor and outlook in what many would consider dire circumstances are—to me—inspirational.I have had my head examined many, many times in the past year. I still have that vascular glomus tumor in my right ear. It is attached to the carotid artery and so they cannot operate on it, too dangerous. I have done the radiation stuff and that is all that can be done. I am fine, though. I just have to wait and see if and when it gets to my brain. Last scan showed it pushing against the membrane, but who knows what it will do. I just go on and do my thing. I am too busy to worry about what is going on in my head. ANITA ASIDE: I laughed out loud when I read this line—maybe you have to know Linda—
All my kids are on their own, finally. I thought that I would finally get some peace and quiet.....then.....Lupe got cancer. That big 'C' keeps turning up. He's had a couple of surgeries and is pretty much staying with me so I can take care of him. He begins Chemo and radiation next week. Hopefully, he will be okay. NO, we are not back together. He just needs someone to look after him for awhile.
As a kid, she continually made me laugh (saving sesame seeds from a Big Mac bun so she could plant them at home and grow her own buns) and constantly amazed me with her problem solving skills (even though some of her solutions may not have been the best idea—she learned that, yes, even though a pork chop fits nicely into a toaster slot one should not use a toaster to reheat a pork chop).

Like many conservatives, I am concerned about the future of our great country under the leadership of President Obama. However, this morning, I was reminded, once again, that OUR GOD IS IN CONTROL.
Kimberly is 9 and lives with her mother. In her home, Kimberly helps by making beds, running errands, and cleaning. She is in primary school where her performance is above average. Playing house, hide-and-seek and playing group games are her favorite activities.
Eskarleth is 3 and lives with her grandmother. She is responsible for helping in the kitchen, running errands, and cleaning. Eskarleth is not attending school because she is too young. Singing, playing with dolls, and running are her favorite activities.

Today is my brother’s birthday. Matty is exactly 51 weeks older than I. As a kid, I loved the week when my brother and I were the same age—and he hated it—for I would tell anyone and everyone, “My name’s Anita. I am 5 (6,7,8…) and my brother is 5, too!”

Today is my birthday—and I wanted to post a “birthday picture.” However, I do not have many family photos with me overseas. This is the best I could do: a picture of my brother (the goofy-smile boy) and me (across from my brother) at my Cousin Tommy’s (at the head of the table) birthday...awwwwww...look how cute.
One of my very best friends proved the depth of our friendship by carrying me out of the park (what a friend!!!!).
Though I did not vote for him...and disagree with Once our eyes are opened, we cannot pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows what we know, and He holds us responsible to ACT.
